Environmental Chemistry and Technology

Faculty: Faculty of Technology Programme: Environmental Chemistry and Technology Mode: Full time, Part time Type: Doctoral Language: Czech

This programme is taught in Czech only

Are you fascinated by nature and interested in the environment you live in? Do you care about sustainable functioning of the world? If so, this is the right place for you. Our Ph.D. programme focuses on scientific work and the development of technologies for the protection of our planet. As these problems are complex and involve both chemical and biological processes, you can encounter and use, eventually, a broad range of methods from e.g. environmental and analytical chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology and molecular biology, depending on the particular topic you choose to study further.

Our common goal is to create a better and highly sustainable environment for us and future generations alike.

The technology we are developing revolves around the efficient use, recycling and reduction of waste, chemical and biological treatment of wastewater, biodegradable and sustainable materials, such as bioplastics, environmental biotechnologies, electrochemical methods for rapid environmental analysis.

What subjects can you encounter?

  • Biodegradability of Compounds
  • Environmental Chemistry
  • Biochemistry
  • Molecular Biology
  • Waste Treatment Technology
  • Microbial Processes and Technology

Where can you find employment after graduation?

Nowadays, doctoral programme graduates are perceived to have theoretical and practical knowledge, as well as, a deeper level of understanding and problem solving capabilities; Examples of possible job positions are:

  • Research and development in the field of waste, wastewater and air treatment
  • Expert in environment monitoring laboratories
  • Research and development in the field of remediation and bioremediation
  • Research and development in the field material recycling
  • Government and international bodies in field of chemical, material and environmental regulation
  • Research and Development, Education (universities, scientific institutions and technology parks)
