Call for applications for the „Support of students in doctoral programmes and at postdoctoral positions at TBU“ programme within the “Creativity, Intelligence & Talent for the Zlín Region” programme for the years 2024 and 2025 at the University Institute
Who can apply:
- Full-time students in doctoral programmes at TBU (referred to as “Ph.D. students”).
- Graduates of doctoral programmes in the Czech Republic or abroad with a Ph.D. degree or its equivalent (referred to as “postdocs”). Postdocs must have completed their Ph.D. programme within the past five years and be employed by TBU as researchers or academic staff members. The 5-year eligibility period may be extended by maternity/paternal leave, long-term illness, or prolonged study abroad. The supported postdoctoral student must be a full-time TBU employee for the duration of the support.
What applications must contain:
- Applicant’s identification (title-name-surname-title).
- Structured CV of the applicant.
- Evidence of scientific, teaching, and organizational skills, along with a career prospect assessment.
- List of publications and research activities.
- Proposal for the support period.
- Plan of the applicant’s creative activities, including a description of the expected scientific results to be achieved during the supported period, such as the focus of the creative activity and anticipated collaboration with industry or public administration.
Maximum Support Period: 14 months for each applicant.

Evaluation Criteria:
The evaluation criteria should align with the programme’s objectives, which include:
- Retaining highly qualified individuals in the Zlín Region by establishing stable conditions for their education and their transition to academic positions.
- Attracting highly qualified individuals to the Zlín Region by providing a stable platform for the beginning of their academic careers;
- Enhancing the current knowledge foundation used for teaching, research, and development in existing programs at UTB;
- Gradually building the necessary knowledge potential for accrediting new study programs at UTB in strategically important areas for the Zlín Region. This includes programs outlined in the Regional Innovation Strategy of the Zlín Region (RIS) and in the fields of health care, biomedicine, and related non-medical fields;
- Strengthening the knowledge base and potential of the Zlín Region through the supply of a highly skilled workforce with innovative capabilities.
Applicant Ranking:
A committee appointed by the Director of UNI will rank the applicants proposed for support and submit the list to the Department of the Vice-Rector for Research, Development and Creative Activities by October 15, 2024.
