International Board
The International Board of Tomas Bata University in Zlín (International Board of TBU in Zlín) is a Rector’s advisory body constituted to consider strategic intents in the sphere of R&D and creative activities, pedagogical activities, development and internationalization of TBU and offering advice during evaluation of the results of activities carried out by the University in these spheres.
The aim of the Board is to enhance the international reputation of TBU in Zlín and help it improve the quality of its scientific and educational activities in such a manner, as to enable the University to cope even better with international competition and affirm its role of an internationally acclaimed “research university”. That is why scientific and pedagogical personalities outstanding in their profession and working at top-class international institutions have been appointed to the International Board.
The TBU International Board is made up of world-renowned academic and research experts who have broad international experience and are of high moral integrity, working outside the Czech Republic for a long time. Members of the TBU International Board are appointed to their office by the Rector for a period of 5 years.
The International Board shall give a recommendation statement with regard to strategic plans and management in the area of science, R&D and creative activities and innovations to the management of the University, Faculties, as well as research centres. At the same time, the Board shall formulate recommendations with regard to the sphere of studies, development and particularly internationalization of the University. The Board shall also offer advisory standpoints regarding the sphere of newly developed degree programmes and in the area of future orientation of the intended degree programmes, suggest methods for the improvement of the overall conception of educational, R&D and creative activities implemented at TBU in Zlín. The International Board shall also suggest inspirational ideas for improvement of the organization and processes of scientific and research activities, inspirational ideas regarding conceptual issues and shall carry out assessment of individuals or teams nominated for grants or awards upon request from the Rector.
