TBU Welcomes Delegates from Ton Duc Thang University
26. May 2023Representatives of the Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) from the Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, partner institution of TBU, paid a two-day visit to Tomas Bata University in Zlín. They attended a meeting with the members of the management board of the University, and toured the buildings of the TBU Faculties and research centres.
During their visit, the members of the delegation took a tour of the Faculty of Management and Economics and the Faculty of Applied Informatics. Dr. Tran Trong Dao, President of the TDTU, Prof. Milan Adámek, Rector of TBU, and Prof. David Tuček, Dean of the FaME signed and agreement on doctoral programmes and discussed further opportunities for cooperation.
“I would be very happy if, in addition to the FaME, we could extend our cooperation to include also the Faculty of Applied Informatics, namely the doctoral programmes in automation, robotics and informatics. These are programmes that are currently in great demand,” said Prof. Milan Adámek, Rector of TBU.
“I am a proud graduate of the FAI; I completed my doctoral studies there in 2009, and I have fond memories of those great years I spent in Zlín,” said Dr. Tran Trong Dao, President of the TDTU.
TBU has been cooperating with the Ton Duc Thang University for a long time, since 2011. Vietnamese students are enrolled mainly on doctoral programmes at the FaME.
The Faculty also regularly organizes international conferences in cooperation with the TDTU. During the visit, the delegation toured research centres, namely CEBIA-Tech and the Centre of Polymer Systems, and visited also the Faculty of Multimedia Communications and the new centre for digitization Fénix.
Ton Duc Thang University was established in 1997. Since then it has become one of the four top universities in the country. Currently, there are approximately 30,000 students enrolled. In addition, TBU has established the Bata Centre in Vietnam, which focuses on student recruitment in particular.
