TBU Mourns the Passing of Assoc. Prof. Josef Zedník
11. January 2024All at Tomas Bata University are very saddened to hear of the passing of doc. RNDr. Josef Zedník, CSc., who died at the age of nearly 88.
Associate Professor Zedník worked at the Department of Mathematics of Tomas Bata University in Zlín for 16 years, 8 of which he held the position of Head of the Department. Before his employment at TBU in Zlín, he worked at the Department of Algebra and Geometry of the Palacký University in Olomouc. Assoc. Prof. Zedník was also instrumental in the organization of several mathematics conferences. He used to organize and teach seminars intended for participants in Mathematics Olympiad in the Zlín Region.
Josef Zedník was an active and sports-minded person. He loved tennis, skiing and was a passionate hunter. He will be greatly missed, but the memory of him will be kept forever, with profound respect.
