TBU Gala Evening Celebrated the International Students’ Day and the Velvet Revolution

The Assembly Hall of the Faculty of Management and Economics hosted the TBU Gala Evening on Monday, 18 November 2024. The event, which commemorated the International Students’ Day and the 35th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution, also offered awards to the best TBU students and athletes.

This year, for the first time, the Gala Evening was open to all students and staff of the university, completely free of charge. The programme offered a light show, dance performances, a celebratory toast and a competition for university merchandise packs.

Best student of the Faculty of Technology

Ing. Adam Cesnek | 1st year of PhD studies, Tools and Processes

Adam is a PhD student at the Faculty of Technology, where he is one of the most active students with excellent results. He is actively involved in the development of the University, helping to digitise drawings and supporting the TBU’s promotional activities.

Best student of the Faculty of Management and Economics

Gabriela Stratilová | 3rd year of Bachelor’s studies, Economics and Management

Gabriela is active in volunteering and extracurricular projects, including preparation of the Bata’s Legacy to the World conference and participating in the Coca-Cola Management Challenge finals. She also contributes to the FaME’s social networks, where she promotes activities related to social responsibility and helps to strengthen the Faculty’s reputation.

Best student of the Faculty of Multimedia Communications

Iva Stoličková| 3rd year of Bachelor’s studies, Marketing Communications

Iva contributes significantly to the running of the Department of Marketing Communications and the organisation of events such as Open Days and alumni reunions, often coordinating activities with a team of students. Her efforts help to improve the Department’s environment and social media presence. Her work inspires other students to see the Faculty as a place worth caring for.

Best student of the Faculty of Applied Informatics

Bc. Eliška Štrajtová | 2nd year of Master’s studies, Security Technologies, Systems and Management

Eliška has been instrumental in promoting the Faculty of Applied Informatics, helping to organise events such as Open Days, Ghost Faculty and Robogames. Thanks to her willingness and commitment, she inspired the creation of the “Chill Zone”. She has excelled academically, actively representing students in the FAI Senate and conducting research in the field of EMC.

Eliška Jackivová | 3rd year of Bachelor’s studies, Social Pedagogy

Eliška is an excellent student who volunteers at Labyrint in Uherské Hradiště, where she helps people suffering from mental illness. She prepares and implements programmes that support their abilities, prevent the worsening of their illness and increase their chances of returning to work and social life. Eliška excels not only in her studies, but also in her empathetic and sensitive approach to others.

Best student of the Faculty of Logistics and Crisis Management

Bc. Marie Maguláková | 2nd year of Master’s studies, Public Protection

Marie is characterised by her charitable nature and her determination to help others. After the tornado in South Moravia she helped to repair the damage, during the refugee crisis she volunteered at the Regional Assistance Centre in Zlín and she is an active member of the Student Union in Uherské Hradiště. She participates in international conferences and student projects, demonstrating her commitment and contribution to the community and the Faculty.

Best student-athlete at TBU

 Bc. Martin Zajíc | 2nd year of Master’s studies, Marketing Communications

Martin became the most successful athlete of the UNIS for TBU project in 2024. He is also the best endurance athlete in the Czech Republic in distances from 5,000 m to half marathon. He won the Czech Championship titles in 10 km track and 10 km road. He ended the season with a half-marathon in Valencia in October with a time of 1:02:31, the third best performance in the history of the Czech Republic. This performance secured him a place at the 2025 World University Summer Games in Germany.

The firefighting team took part in the Academic Championship in Fire-Fighting Sport of the Czech Republic in Ostrava. In the competition including 100 m hurdles, 4×100 m relay and a simulated fire-fighting exercise, our men excelled especially in the latter discipline (the so-called “attack”), taking home the title of “Academic Champion of the Czech Republic 2024”. Female students from the TBU also ranked highly in seventh place.
