Environmental Protection Easily Done – New Waste Sorting Bins at TBU!
28. September 2023The Management Board of Tomas Bata University strongly supports ecological and sustainable development, and therefore, together with students and staff, they are preparing a strategy for ecological and sustainable development until 2030.
If you wish to get involved in activities related to sustainability, if you are interested in nature, impacts of everyday and working life on the environment and you would like to joint the efforts aimed to support sustainable development at TBU, please contact Ing. Martina Kopečková, Ph.D. (kopeckova@utb.cz).
We will keep you informed about the preparation and implementation of the above-mentioned TBU Sustainable Development Strategy. Right now, we have great news for you, which proves that every step towards sustainability counts.
At present, we are placing new waste sorting bins in TBU buildings.
On each floor you will find properly marked bins, intended for the three main types of waste: Mixed wastes, paper and plastics.
But that’s not all. At the entrance to each building, or certainly nearby, you will also find separate bins for glass and metal. And to make it even better, we have special bins for the collection of batteries and used markers and pens. Yes, that’s right! Old batteries and markers no longer have to end up in ordinary waste, but can be recycled. Every small step towards a greener future is important.
Thus, we are offering you an opportunity to make a personal contribution to the environmental protection every day.
If you have suggestions or questions about the topic of sustainability, please contact Ing. Martina Juříková, Ph.D.Martina Juříková, Ph.D. (jurikova@utb.cz), Vice-Rector for Internal and External Relations, who is in charge of sustainability at TBU.
