1st Meeting of the International Board Held at TBU

The first meeting of the International Board of Tomas Bata University in Zlín was held between 20 and 21 October 2022. Prof. Sedlařík, TBU Rector, presented TBU strategic documents, namely the 21+ Strategic Plan of TBU in Zlín and the Implementation Plan of the 21+ Strategic Plan of TBU in Zlín – 2023. The aim of the University to enhance the quality of studies and the issue of internationalization in higher education were also discussed.

During the meeting, the Board members appreciated the amount of help provided by the University during the COVID-19 pandemic throughout the whole region of Zlín. They enjoyed the fact that the University which has been named after the successful businessman Tomas Bata commits to the same values and principles as he did. At that time, Tomas Bata was an important actor on the market, and they were pleased to see that TBU follows in his footsteps in this respect.

The International Board of TBU in Zlín is a Rector’s advisory body, whose aim is to enhance the international reputation of TBU in Zlín and help it improve the quality of its scientific and educational activities in such a manner, as to enable the University to cope even better with international competition and affirm its role of an internationally acclaimed “research university”. That is why scientific and pedagogical personalities outstanding in their profession and working at top-class international institutions have been appointed to the International Board. The TBU International Board is made up of world-renowned academic and research experts who have broad international experience and are of high moral integrity, working outside the Czech Republic for a long time. Members of the TBU International Board are appointed to their office by the Rector for a period of 5 years.
