Women in Science & Research: Voices from Far That Bring Strength and Overcoming
6. listopadu 2024The event aims to give voice to women who come from outside European Union and work in science and research, sharing their stories of struggle and success. Stories of women from different continents will be presented, bringing the perspective of immigrants who have chosen (or not) to live in the EU, whether for a short time or to set up their lives here forever.
Apart from everything, one of the main objectives is to break existing stereotypes about what it means to be an immigrant and to bring to light some important topics, such as structural racism in the world of research and work and sisterhood among women. The event will be in English, free of charge and online, with the aim of providing access to everyone. It is worth remembering that the talks are for people who are interested in the topic, regardless of gender. Students, professors, researchers, and members of society in general are all invited.
The webinar was an idea of Dr. Eva Ferreira, a Brazilian researcher at Tomas Bata University, Czechia and MBA advisor at University of São Paulo, Brazil, who has been living in Europe for six years, working as a consultant/researcher/lecturer in Czechia, Germany, Portugal, Slovakia and The Netherlands, in addition to having visited 27 countries in four different continents.
The 1st Webinar – Women in Science & Research: Voices from Far That Bring Strength and Overcoming will take place online on February 11, 2025, at 9:30 am (Prague time).
