TBU Central Refectory Is Undergoing Renovation
31. July 2023The central refectory of Tomas Bata University in Zlín (TBU) located in Hradská Street in undergoing a complete renovation. The reason is that the equipment of the facility is obsolete and requires replacement in order to speed up the dispensing of meals and increase the number of diners.
Emphasis is placed on practicality and hygiene of the facility and equipment as well as on making the best use of the entire facility. During the renovation, the ventilation system, including the piping and software control will be completely replaced, because they are well past its service life. Building U4, where the central refectory is located, was put into operation after renovation in 2001. On average, over 100,000 meals are cooked there annually; while 145,000 lunches are expected to be prepared there in 2023. The renovation works will last until October 2023; the cost will be almost CZK 17,000,000 without tax.
