University of the Third Age
The University of the Third Age (U3A) is a lifelong learning programme providing non-professional education and intended for senior citizens.
Study requirements
Citizens who have qualified for an old-age pension may apply for the programme and citizens entitled to a disability pension may become U3A attendees regardless of the age limit. Applicants older than 50 years may apply for an exemption.
Process of study
Courses are held from September/October to May/June. A matriculation ceremony marks the official commencement of studies within the University of the Third Age. Upon completing their studies attendees receive Certificates of Completion of Studies within the U3A (after 2 years of studies).
All the courses offered within the U3A programme at TBU are taught in Czech.
