Glassmakers in Valašské Meziříčí Cast Former FT Students’ Hands in Glass

October 2019Hands of former students of the Faculty of Technology, organizers of the Velvet Revolution in Zlín (then called Gottwaldov) in 1989, were cast in glass in the glass foundry of the Secondary Technical School of Glassmaking in Valašské Meziříčí. The sculpture will be unveiled in the atrium of the University Centre within the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution on Thursday, 14 November 2019.
Members of the so-called Strike Committee in 1989 – Jiří Devát, David Hausner, Věra Honajzrová, Libor Zeman, Libor Večeřa and Irena Tanko – will participate in a debate with TBU students and secondary school students held on Thursday, 14 November 2019, on the occasion of the opening preview of the exhibition in the University Centre and of the commemorative event held in close proximity to the building of the Faculty of Technology.
