Act No. 404/2000 Coll. on the Establishment of TBU in Zlín

The Parliament has agreed to adopt this Act of the Czech Republic:
§ 1
(1) A public higher education institution1) entitled Tomas Bata University in Zlín shall be established. The public higher education institution resides in Zlín.
(2) The Faculty of Technology in Zlín, the Faculty of Management and Economics in Zlín and the Halls of Residence and Refectory in Zlín shall separate from the Brno University of Technology and shall become component parts of Tomas Bata University in Zlín on the date on which this Act comes into effect.
§ 2
(1) On the date on which this Act comes into effect the following assets shall be transferred to Tomas Bata University in Zlín without payment:
- Immovable assets and flats owned by the Brno University of Technology, which are specified in Appendix No. 1 to this Act, as well as rights and obligations related to these immovable assets and flats,
- Immovable assets owned by the state, which are specified in Appendix No. 2 to this Act, as well as rights and obligations related to these immovable assets.
(2) Also movable assets included in the accessories to immovable assets and flats specified in Appendix No. 1 and movable assets used for the purposes of the Faculty of Technology in Zlín, the Faculty of Management and Economics in Zlín and the Halls of Residence and Refectory in Zlín shall be transferred from the Brno University of Technology to Tomas Bata University in Zlín without payment. The inventory of movable assets to be transferred under the provision of this paragraph forms part of the takeover report.
(3) On the date on which this Act comes into effect, the rights and obligations arising from the labour-law relations of the staff of the Brno University of Technology, who are assigned to perform professional duties at the Faculty of Technology in Zlín, Faculty of Management and Economics in Zlín and the Halls of Residence and Refectory in Zlín, as well as the other rights and obligations relevant to the aforementioned faculties and the Halls of Residence and Refectory in Zlín shall be transferred to Tomas Bata University in Zlín.
§ 3
(1) Students who were studying in accredited degree programmes carried out by the Faculty of Technology in Zlín or the Faculty of Management and Economics in Zlín of the Brno University of Technology as at 31 December 2000, shall become students of Tomas Bata University in Zlín on the date on which this Act comes into effect.
(2) Accredited degree programmes, which were carried out by the Faculty of Technology in Zlín or the Faculty of Management and Economics in Zlín of the Brno University of Technology as at 31 December 2000, shall become degree programmes of Tomas Bata University in Zlín; they are accredited till 31 December 2002.
§ 4
Date of Effect
This Act comes into effect on 1 January 2001.
